Shannon earned her 1st Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from Mestre Sylvio Behring and the Arashi Do organization. Now, she has over 14 years of training experience and more than 10 years of coaching experience/ teaching.

She has been deeply involved in the women’s jiu jitsu community, regularly participating in seminars and open mats that support and grow female representation in the sport.

She has an extensive teaching background running a co-ed class, womens only and kids classes.  She has vast experience with all types of learners with many different learning styles.

Shannon is known for her calm, supportive teaching style and her ability to make even the most complex techniques feel approachable.

At Haven, she is passionate about creating a space where everyone feels comfortable, capable, and confident—both on and off the mats.

Outside Martial Arts

Shannon is mom to two kids, always looking for an adventure and something new to learn. In her day job she works in non profits, hoping to have positive impact on issues near to her heart.
